Urgently Relevant Book on the perception of China
This is a very timely book by professor Julie Yu-Wen Chen of Helsinki University about the perception of China, historically as well as today. Julie has gathered a multitude of sources and interviews, myself being one of the interviewees about my experiences with reporting, writing and lecturing on many things Chinese. This is in CHAPTER 5 Revolving Doors Between Research, Journalism, and Politics. The book is published by Leiden University Press and remarkably, and wonderfully, is is open access, thus free for anyone to download. As the subject is urgently relevant in these turbulent times, I warmly recommend this timely publication.
